It was covered with a yellow, police tarp but was most definitely a dead human.
Apparently, very early this morning person was walking or standing on the University street overpass in Berkeley (there is no sidewalk) and was hit and run by a vehicle. The police drove by and found the body at 5:10am. How long had it been there? Did anyone witness the incident? Was it intentional or an accident? Uh, dunno. But yeah, that's really awful and just crazy! Brossif really ran someone over and just took off?!
But, why care, right? It won't do any good. If they every find the dickwad that did it he'll get off anyway. Rabbletown USA-B

"post script in crooked lines"
I really want to believe in the freedom and fairness of our country and our justice system but yesterday's verdict in the Zimmerman case is just the latest example of miscarriage of justice in our country. The system doesn't work and has failed countless times.
I don't know why everyone is so shocked. It's horrible and tragic and we kind of expected this to happen. Justice in such high profile cases (and plenty of ones you never hear about) is so rare. Remember Casey Anthony? That was only a year ago.
Moral of the story? Do whatever the fuck you want. If you're truly a big enough asshole you'll probably get away with it. Rabble-B

My hood
I have so much to rabble about but for some reason can't post on a regular basis like the good ol' days. But I'm trying anyway...
Here's what's happened in my hood recently:
-777 crash lands at SFO causing the first jet liner fatalities in the US in 12 years. Many victims rushed to SFGH where my wife works. Chaos.
-BART went on strike for five days and made my life and half a million other people's lives pure suffering. I want everyone to get paid what they deserve and be respected by their employers. BART employees some of whom sit in a chair and read magazines all day get paid $60K base salary including a pension they pay nothing into (who has a pension anymore?) and healthcare for as many dependents as they want for $96 a month. And they want a 22% pay raise? Ppppffffffff!!!!!!!!! The strike cost the Bay Area economy $70 million a day. They struck a temporary deal for a month and are at the bargaining table now with the union threatening a "bloody" strike worse than the 70's if their demands aren't met. Seriously, you're gonna get violent? Fuck off and get back to driving trains!
-After BART resumed service a male/female couple had a third person film them having sex on BART and posted it online. I wish I could say I'm shocked but I'd just call it Thursday on BART.
-Today a man robbed a jewelry store and shot and killed two women and shot at police before surrendering. Oh, this all took place a few blocks from my work.
-The Giants are sucking ass.

Doma-dios
The Supreme Court struck down the Defense of Marriage Act today. Passed in 1996 and signed into law by Clinton (really Bill? I want to like you but that was a dick move), the act denied federal protections and rights to gay/lesbian married couples.
And here's what Michelle Bachman had to say about it:

It's been awhile, yaarrrlllll!
Yeah, it's been a while. But I though this was a good one to bring it back on.
My wife was commuting to work this morning on the train in this picture. I'd like to say this is crazy and bizarre but really it's just Thursday day on BART. Rabble-B
But that was after he had led them around, from roof of the station and onto the top of a train, BART spokeswoman Alicia Trost said. During the pursuit, the man also wound up on the BART tracks, out onto Interstate 980 and back on top of a train roof.
Power at the MacArthur station was shut down during the incident, and trains remained in place for approximately 50 minutes.
"We could hear loud footsteps on top of the train, so it was pretty clear somebody was running on the roof," said passenger Jennifer Jamall, 26, who was on a train at MacArthur Station. The sound "was like a velociraptor from Jurassic Park. It was a little scary at first."
Police were first called to the station about 5:27 a.m. for a report of a man on the station's roof. It's wasn't immediately known why he was there.
The incident created a huge delay with the commute. All trains on the Pittsburg/Bay Point and Richmond lines were prevented from going through the MacArthur station, a major transfer point for trains heading to and from San Francisco. Trains on the Fremont-to-Daly City line were not affected, BART
spokeswoman Luna Salaver said.
The
California Highway Patrol also shut down two lanes of Highway 24 for a
short period of time to assist police, CHP Officer James Evans said.
Officers reopened the roadway to traffic at about 7 a.m.
"That was a first for me, definitely a first," said Oakland Fire dispatcher Rachel Brown, who was in her car on the way to work when the chaos occurred. "That ranks up there."
Trains began running again at 7:15 a.m., but residual delays were felt throughout the morning, Salaver said. Also, a train running from Richmond to San Francisco subsequently died on the tracks and remained there for several minutes before powering back up to 10 mph and being taken out of service at the MacArthur Station, Salaver said.

OAKLAND
-- A major transfer station for BART commuters was shut down for almost
an hour Thursday morning while police chased a man who eluded them by
jumping on top of a train, the station and even onto a nearby freeway,
officials said.
BART police arrested the suspect, who was not identified, about 7:12 a.m. after talking him down off a train roof. But that was after he had led them around, from roof of the station and onto the top of a train, BART spokeswoman Alicia Trost said.
