Worse than golf? Yes.

There's not many sports or activities worse that golf but competition sailing has it all over golf for lowest rung.  The America's Cup is being held in San Francisco Bay this year and all it's gonna be is a pain in the ass, just like the qualifying rounds they raced last year.  It snarls traffic, costs a shit ton of money (and doesn't really bring in as much as they say) and takes precedent over normal use of publicly owned parks like Crissy Field and fucks up ferry and ship traffic in the biggest waterway on the west coast.

Worse yet, it has to be the whitest, richest and most elitist sport in the world.  The sponsors range from Oracle to Prada and there's hardly even any boats competing.  What does Prada have to do with water sports?  It's not like the Indy 500, in the Louis Vitton Cup, a sub race under the America's Cup banner, only three boats are competing in the entire thing!  How is that fun?  How does that actually feel like competition?  I mean run it three times and you'll probably win once.

Even better, the Cup organizers actually advertised Alcatraz as a viewing spot with a media center for the races biggest sponsors.  Arrogant as that is, apparently they forgot to ask the National Park Service if that would be okay when it was brought to NPS they said no.  Hah!  Fuck you America's Cup pricks.  You can't just impose your will on what the rest of us own.

Now host your stupid race and get out of my town!  I hope all the boats sink.  Rabble-B
