"How do you look at them and ... deny them access?" said Neugebauer. He, with most House Republicans, had voted early Sunday morning to pass a funding measure that would delay the Affordable Care Act, a vote that set up a showdown with the Senate and President Barack Obama. With the parties unable to agree on how to fund the federal government, non-essential government functions shut down Tuesday.
"It's difficult," responded the Park Service employee.
"Well, it should be difficult," replied the congressman, who was carrying a small American flag in his breast pocket.
"It is difficult," responded the Park Service employee. "I'm sorry, sir."
"The Park Service should be ashamed of themselves," the congressman said.
"I'm not ashamed," replied the ranger.


The above is part of the exchange from the video clip between Rep. Randy Neugebauer's (R-Tex.) and a federal park ranger at the WWII memorial in DC.  The, "them" he refers to are WWII veterans who had traveled to see the memorial.  Some of those veterans traveled there via the Honor Flight program that funds WWII vets to the memorial and part of the park rangers job is to make sure that the vets do have access to the memorial during the shutdown when the general public does not.

I also watched several of the many clips you can find of Michelle Bachman on Youtube from the last couple days just spewing bullshit out her ass.  My favorite is her kissing a WWII vet at the memorial while spouting a bunch of partisan bullshit in front of this guy.

First of all, this man is 90 years old and fought the Nazi's and imperialist Japan, he's not remotely impressed by Michelle Bachman.  Second, if I was a WWII vet and she even tried to stand near to me I'd tell her to, "Back the fuck off and don't ever touch me.  I'm a living national treasure and you just want to use me for a sound bite to make yourself look good to the press.  I'm not buying it lady.  Don't ever come near me again!" 

And that's just it.  Why would any member of congress, from either side of the aisle, go to the WWII memorial with a bunch of vets?  To look good, get a sound bite and score some votes so they can keep on getting paid to do nothing.  The unmistakable irony (to everyone but congress and FOX News apparently) is that Neugebauer, Bachman and all those other assholes are personally responsible for the closure of the WWII monument.  It's thoroughly nauseating and reprehensible.  And it's not even worth arguing because they'll never get it.  America doesn't want to hear and see congress making themselves look good on tape or video, they want them to get back in the capitol building and do the fucking job they were elected for.  Rabble-B

Also, MC Hammer played in Golden Gate Park to day at 10am.  I wasn't there unfortunately, but I'm just saying.
